ABOUT CWA

Welcome to the Cortland Writer's Association Ning page! CWA welcomes writers of all genres to join in publishing our annual literary magazine Transition. We aim to produce a thought-provoking and intimate publication from a diverse range of students regardless of major or subject matter. CWA also hosts a number of Open Mic readings and a spring retreat to Raquette Lake.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

CWA is already accepting submissions for the 2010 edition of Transition magazine. Please review submission guidelines below:

 Submissions must be original pieces written by YOU, and cannot have been previously published elsewhere.

 There is no maximum length to submissions; however, we encourage writers with any piece longer than 1,500 words to submit a striking excerpt(s) rather than the entire piece.

 Multiple submissions are allowed.

 Please include your first and last name, genre of your piece and your email address at the top of each submission.

 Send submissions to CortlandWriters@Yahoo.com as an attachment in .doc or .rtf form.

 Submission deadline is the last day before Thanksgiving break,
MONDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2009. DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL THE END OF THE FALL SEMESTER! SUBMIT YOUR CREATIVE WORK!

All submissions will be read and evaluated anonymously by the Cortland Writer’s Association editors. You will receive an email early in the spring semester informing you whether or not your writing will appear in the magazine.

What do you write?

I'm not quite sure this will be responded to right away, but I am curious to see what it is that all of you write. As the community grows, it'll be nice to see members reveal their works.
